Having played in the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League during the second and third releases of the challenge, the 23-year-old said she’s eager to be back playing in Australia:
It came to me as somewhat of a stun, I was playing in a World Cup qualifier at the time and when I heard the Scorchers needed to sign me I was delighted. It’s unfathomably energizing to be back playing in the Big Bash, it’s the best household rivalry on the planet and it goes from solidarity to-quality every year. We have some unfathomable players this year with any semblance of Meg Lanning and Nat Sciver, so I’m most amped up for ideally learning of those folks and testing myself against the best on the planet.”
I didn’t know a large number of my colleagues before getting together with the squad this week, so it’s been energizing coming into another group and perceiving how they approach their stuff. They’ve been exceptionally inviting up until now and have made it simple for me. With respect to the city, I’ve visited Perth two or multiple times, it’s a splendid spot and I can hardly wait to begin.”
Garth was a piece of an effective Sydney Sixers squad during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 rivalries, during which time her side won two titles. Garth’s last appearance in the WBBL was the Final in February 2018 when the Sixers crushed the Scorchers in the decider. Garth made a significant commitment to the success of taking
1-7 from 2 overs, which pursued on from a similarly amazing exhibition in the previous semi-last where she asserted 2-14 from 3 overs.
Scorchers Head Coach Lisa Keightley stated:
It’s incredible to see Kim back playing in the Big Bash rivalry, she comes into our squad with significant WBBL experience and had an extraordinary contact with the ball. I’m truly energized with the squad we have assembled, we have extraordinary adaptability no matter how you look at it which will be the way into our crusade.”
I’m anticipating seeing everybody in real life this season. We’re all tingling to start the challenge, the force of the WBBL has been assembling pleasantly and individuals realize how energizing the item is. The open door we need to help take the game to the following level is before us and we’re prepared for the test.”
Perth Scorchers start their 2019 WBBL battle against the Melbourne Renegades at St Kilda’s CitiPower Center on Wednesday 23 October 2019.
