History of Johur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium

About half an hour drive outside the city center, the Chittagong Divisional Stadium was one of five purpose-built cricket grounds for the 2004 Under-19 World Cup. It was finally granted full international status in January 2006, before moving to Sri Lanka. The stadium itself is a concrete bowl set up on one of the main agricultural lands, where a three-level pavilion provides the focal point.

The stadium offers views of the beautiful lily trees, ports and ships on the coast. It set up the floodlights before the fourth cricket ground in Bangladesh before the World Cup, allowing for day/night cricket matches.
